From 7th to 8th June , Consul General Huang Shifang visited Tenom District of Sabah State, attended opening ceremony of the reading facilities at Pada Primary School and other activities jointly with wife of Head of Sabah State Hajah Norlidah in Tenom.

In November last year, the Consulate General of China in Kota Kinabalu, together with Foundation established by Head of Sabah State couple, donated funds to four rural schools in Sabah including Pada Primary School in Tenom, for improving their library and reading facilities. At present, all of the sponsored schools have completed the installation of their facilities.

At the ceremony, Consul General Huang congratulated the opening of the reading facility and expressed her sincere gratitude to all who have supported the project. She pointed out that the project not only provides an excellent reading and learning environment for local students, but also demonstrates the deep friendship between the people of China and Sabah, and becomes a new testimony to the traditional friendship between the two places. She hoped that the children would make full use of the good reading conditions, set sail in the sea of knowledge and grow up to contribute to the country and society as well as to the friendship between China and Malaysia.

Afterwards Consul General Huang and State Head’s wife inspected the newly built reading room together and gave full recognition to the quality of the facilities.

During the stay in Tenom, Consul General Huang and State Head’s wife also played games with women members of the local badminton association, communicating with each other, which further enhanced the friendship with the people of Tenom District.
