On July 4, Consul-General Huang Shifang paid a courtesy call on Sabah Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture and Fishery Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Jeffery Kitingan, Deputy Consul-General Wu Xiaoqing attended the meeting.

Consul-General Huang said that Sabah is rich in natural resources and has an advantageous geographical location.  The friendly economic and trade cooperation between China and Sabah has unique advantages and great potential.  The Consulate General is willing to maintain close communication and coordination with the deputy Chief minister.  In giving full play to the role of bridge, the Consulate General will strengthen exchanges and cooperation between China and Sabah in all aspects, especially the in the field of modern agriculture and fishery, to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Datuk Seri Jeffery welcomed Consul-General Huang to take up her new post in Sabah, saying that China is an important partner of Sabah, Sabah hopes to learn from China's advanced experience in the field of agriculture and welcomes China to increase investment in Sabah's agriculture and fisheries. The state government is willing to work with the Consulate-General to push the level of cooperation between the two places to a new level.
