On July 7, Consul-General Huang Shifang paid a courtesy call on Datuk Jafry Ariffin, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment of Sabah State.  Deputy Consul-General Wu Xiaoqing also attended the meeting.

Consul-General Huang said that Sabah has long been a popular tourist destination for Chinese tourists with its beautiful scenery and simple folk customs.  Although the current personnel exchanges between the two places are affected by the pandemic, the communication between the Consulate-General and the State government in the fields of tourism and culture have never stopped.  In the future, the Consulate-General will continue to promote Sabah's tourism resources to the Chinese people and to enhance the in-depth development of cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two places.

Datuk Jafry Ariffin welcomed Consul-General Huang's arrival in Sabah. He introduced the current development of Sabah's tourism industry and said that there is great potential for cultural exchanges and cooperation between Sabah and China. He hopes to maintain close communication and cooperation with the Consulate-General, and looks forward to promoting more Chinese tourists to travel to Sabah after the pandemic and help Sabah's economic development.
