2026-08-31 17:42

On 30 August, Consul General Zhu Xinglong attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Chinese Culture Land in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Deputy Speaker of Sabah State Legislative Assembly, YB Datuk Richard Yong We Kong, Vice President of Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College, Ms. Kong Xuemei, President of Malaysia-China Friendship Association Sabah, Oh Ei Sun, representatives of Chinese-Malaysian senators, students and teachers of various ethnics, representatives of various Chinese communities and so forth were also in attendance.

In his speech, Consul General Zhu presented sincere appreciation towards Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College and Malaysia-China Friendship Association Sabah for their elaborate preparations. Friendship, which derives from close contact between the people, holds the key to sound state-to-state relations. People-to-people communication and cooperation in education between China and Malaysia have a longstanding history, in which young generation forms up the backbone force in tightening the bond of public sentiment. We believe that students and teachers who are in participation of this year’s activity can take the “relay baton” of inheriting and promoting fine traditional Chinese culture and make contribution to China-Malaysia friendship.

During the ceremony, teachers of Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College performed traditional Chinese dances, steel tongue drum, Ba Duan Jin, caligraphy and painting, paper cuttings and so forth, receiving unaniomus praise from attendees.
