On 1 August, Consul General Zhu Xinglong attended the 2026 launching ceremony of the national month in Sabah. Representative of Sabah Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister II of Sabah and State Minister of Finance, YB Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Masidi bin Manjun, Deputy Chief Minister III of Sabah and State Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship, and Transport, YB Datuk Ewon Benedick and other figures of state government, military and police departments of Malaysia, consular corps in Sabah, representatives from Chinese communities, non-government organizations and various sectors were in attendance.

During the ceremony, Masidi bestowed Jalur Gemilang and the flag of Sabah to representaives of various sectors as commendation to their achievements and contribution in respective fields.
