On 26 July, Consul General Zhu Xinglong attended the 2026 Malaysia-China Fun Run. Over 5000 attendees also participated in the activity, including Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities of Malaysia, YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Deputy Speaker of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly, YB Datuk Richard Yong We Kong, State Chairman of the Democratic Action Party, Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, President of Malaysia-China Friendship Association Sabah, Oh Ei Sun, people of various ethnic groups, representatives of China-invested enterprises and so on, together celebrating the 52nd anniversary of China-Malaysia diplomatic ties.

In the interview with reporters, Consul General Zhu stated that under the guidance of leaders of China and Malaysia, China-Malaysia relationship is now at its historical best. Sabah is a vital part of building China-Malaysia relationship. In recent years, China-Sabah cooperation has made significant achievements in various sectors like economic and trade construction, educational collaboration, people-to-people communication and so forth. Malaysia-China Fun Run not only attracts active participation from overseas Chinese, but gains tremendous support from other ethnic groups of Malaysia of different ages, invigorating the construction of high-level strategic China-Malaysia community.
