On May 1, Consul General Zhu Xinglong attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Kaamatan Harvest Festival at the invitation of the State Government. Also in attendance are State Chief Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Haji Noor, dignitaries of the State Government, representatives of foreign consular corps, the public from various sectors.

Kaamataan Harvest Festival is the traditional festival of Kadazan-Dusun ethnic. During the ceremony, local people dressed in folk costumes performed traditional songs and dances, worshiped the God of Harvest, celebrated the harvest of rice and expressed appreciation towards Kinoingan (the supreme creator).
