Sabah and the Territory of Labuan in Malaysia are important nodes of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.  They are strategically located, plentiful in natural resources, and have unique advantages and potential to carry out practical cooperation with China.  In recent years, exchanges and cooperation between China and Sabah-Labuan in various fields have progressed steadily and achieved fruitful results.  With the establishment of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and ASEAN and the official entry into effect of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), China-Sabah (Labuan) friendly cooperation will usher in new historical opportunities.

As the Chinese Consul-General in Kota Kinabalu, I will deepen the friendly relations between China and Malaysia, especially with Sabah-Labuan, and actively promote exchanges and cooperation between China and the consular district in various fields, so as to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two places.  The Consulate-General will also continue to perform its duty as a window of service, and a home for overseas Chinese, to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in accordance with the law, and wholeheartedly provide high-quality and convenient consular services for Chinese and foreigners.
