On January 9, Consul-General Huang Shifang attended the Sabah State Government's 2025 Chinese New Year Lion Head Presentation Ceremony at the invitation of the state government. The ceremony was attended by State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, representing Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, as well as State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong, officials from various state government departments, members of the consular corps in Sabah, Chinese community leaders, and representatives from all walks of life.

The event featured various traditional Chinese cultural practices, including drum performances, lion eye-dotting ceremonies, and "lou sang". Consul-General Huang and the guests extended their heartfelt Chinese Spring Festival wishes to the people of Sabah, expressing hopes for the everlasting friendship between China and Malaysia.
